Are you familiar with the international Buffy studies journal? There's an absolute goldmine of intelligent critical comment in there. I've read a bunch of the words you listed, and some of them I think are terrific, others less so.
By the way, do you read the Buffy Season 8 comics? I collect them, since they're by Joss and therefore canon. I'd never bought a comic in my life, and it took me a while to understand how to read them, but really, they're pretty good.

I am familiar with the journal and am starting to go through it. I've read some of these books to, and thought some were good and some quite awful. There are a few that look interesting that I haven't read yet, though, so I am going to try to get those.
And yes, I am going to read the comics. Requested the first one from the library yesterday. I've never read a comic before either, beside Dykes to Watch Out For.
