Right you are. I don't love Buffy as a character, honestly. She complains too much. But I don't hate her either. So she appears on neither list.

Wow, now I'm going to start making a list like this. I agree with you about loathing Dawn - personally, I'd have pushed her off the tower in "Chosen," but then, I'm callous like that. But I kind of like Drusilla. My hate list would have included Xander and Angel, although I love Angelus -- so much more fun than the goody-two-shoes ensouled version.

This list cracks me up, because my Source for all things Buffy adores Giles and can't stand Spike. (well, not exactly true - she can't stand Emo Spike - snarky Spike is cool).
I haven't met everyone yet, so I can't really comment, but I'm actually quite fond of everyone so far, whether actually adoring them or enjoying the trainwrecks they cause. Cordy is a trainwreck person but I'm terribly fond of her anyway, ditto Joyce. Xander amuses me deeply even as I want to smack him sometimes.
Oz, Willow, Giles all rock (Buffy too, IMO. of course she's whiny - who wouldn't be?) Sincere affection for Tara, also, though I only know her from a few episodes so far.
