Socks I love: Acorn
It's suddenly chilly here, especially in the morning. And I have lousy circulation, so my feet are always cold. I also really dislike slippers, and refuse to wear shoes in the house. This makes socks very important.
So I dug out the ones I bought two years ago to go to Norway in January. I love these socks. I'm allergic to wool, so warm socks is a harder proposition than it sounds. But I found Acorn Versa fleece socks at Sierra Trading Post. And they are perfect.
I love everything about them. They are warm, soft, and comfortable. They come in lots of colors and awesome fun patterns. They are thin enough to fit under shoes (not just boots, but even sneakers--I wear them with sneakers to walk the dog) but heavy enough to wear on their own inside and feel cozy. They can be machine washed and dried, and they come in a wide variety of sizes. They're perfect.
They aren't cheap--even at Sierra Trading Post they are almost $10 a pair. However, mine have held up great (I wore them in Minnesota last winter as well as in Norway two years ago). In fact, I'm probably going to buy a few more pairs to get me through my first non-Texas winter.
Now, if I could just find a coat...
